Everything you need to know about the REHVA Student Competition

Each year, REHVA hosts a European student competition aimed at acknowledging and celebrating outstanding HVAC students. In the run-up to this event, each national REHVA Member Association has the opportunity to nominate one entry through their own local contests. The entries submitted for the competition are derived from either Master’s or Bachelor’s theses and can cover any subject related to heating, ventilation, or air conditioning.

Why participate

If you win the Dutch Nominee Competition you will automatically build up a strong international network of experts in your area of expertise. TVVL offers you a stage during national and regional events and your article will be published in TVVL Magazine. If you win the European REHVA Student Competition 2025, besides the cash prize of € 500 you will be offered the chance to publish an article in the REHVA Journal.


Procedure

Out of the Dutch submissions 3 candidates will be nominated to present their research to the members of TVVL Impuls. During the Dutch final, that will take place at the TVVL office in Woerden, will be announced who will represent the Netherlands at the REHVA Student Competition 2025.   • The first selection will be organized on national level by TVVL for the Netherlands.
  • If you win as Dutch Nominee you will build an international network, are able to showcase at national events, and your work will be featured in TVVL Magazine.
  • Winning the European REHVA Student Competition will means a cash prize of €500 and a chance to publish in the prestigious REHVA Journal.

Chairman of the jury of the REHVA Student Competition

This year’s jury for the Dutch Nominee Competition of the REHVA Student Competition will be led by Dr. Ir. Arash Rasooli. Arash Rasooli, R&D Specialist on thermal testing instruments holds a PhD from TU Delft and is specialized in Heat Transfer and component thermophysical characterization in buildings. He won the European REHVA Student Competition 2016 as well as the World Student Competition 2016 during CLIMA 2016. With this experience Arash supports students in their journey to compete at the REHVA Student Competition.
